Job Overview
The Associate Lawyer will assist legal counsels by providing administrative and legal support, preparing documents, and coordinating with courts and government agencies. This role requires strong research, drafting, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist and provide administrative and legal support to legal counsels.
- Prepare and maintain affidavits and legal documents.
- File pleadings with courts, government agencies, or quasi-courts.
- Direct and coordinate law office activities, including delivery of subpoenas and other legal documents.
- Prepare case summary reports.
- Gather and analyze research data such as statutes, decisions, legal articles, codes, and documents.
- Draft pleadings, letters, and contracts.
- Coordinate and communicate with various government agencies (NLRC, SC, CA, Courts, BI, DOLE, BIR, etc.) to achieve desired results.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
Qualifications and Key Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Management, Humanities/Liberal Arts, Political Science, or equivalent. Juris Doctor or LLM degree is a plus.
- New bar passers are welcome to apply.
- Experience in paralegal work in a law office, in-house Legal Department (corporate), or litigation is an advantage.
- Proficient in basic office computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Organized, proactive, solution-based, and results-oriented.
- Flexible and able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong writing skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
